Last year I stood in front of a camera and promised that if it was possible, the European Search Awards would be live in 2022, and we are delivering on that promise with the announcement today that the Search Awards are landing in Barcelona.

This year the European Search Awards are celebrating their 10th anniversary! How time flies when you are celebrating all that is outstanding about the Search industry!

Launched in 2012, the European Search Awards recognised the impact that Search was having in transforming business profitability across Europe and no surprises, it continues to do so today, even more so than then!

The Search Awards, around the world, are the ‘Gold Standard’ when it comes to recognising ‘white-hat activity’ back in 2011 where no such standards existed, so we created one that today is trusted and respected by the industry and clients.

The first event took place in Amsterdam, many of you may remember it! Some of you won’t! Nothing quite prepares you, as event organiser, for half an industry heading off to the infamous red light industry post awards 😉 Since then, we have visited Berlin, Budapest, Krakow, Paris and Prague on our European Tour! For seasoned Search entrants, who can forget raving with Graeme Park in Paris, me getting pick pocketed at an aftershow then, the now legendary post awards brunch, and the infamous snails incident… I’m naming no names but you know who you are 😉 I’ve shared so many happy memories across Europe with the whole search industry and look forward to creating new ones, with old and new faces in Barcelona in a few months time, its one of my favourite cities and I can’t wait to return – a city with a beach can’t be beaten!

The European Search Awards are the biggest of all the events in the We Are Search portfolio, attracting over 800 entries annually and showcasing the very best in Search that Europe has to offer. The Search industry come together at the event as a community, competition for the night is pushed aside, and instead, new relationships and partnerships are forged, and mutual congratulations are offered as individuals celebrate Search as a whole. As seasoned judge Trond Lyngbo says, “newcomers should never fear the heavy weights, the Search Awards are about being humble and respecting all the brilliant minds, innovators and creatives that open our eyes to new best practice and who can teach us all how to be better. The Search Awards empower individuals and teams to achieve whatever goals they may have”

Join the European Search community by showing our team of expert judges and your peers your expertise and outstanding best practice. The awards celebrate campaigns across multiple verticals and platforms, tools and technologies and most importantly, the individuals and teams that are transforming communication and business for the better.
