It’s all set and done! The awards ceremony is behind us and Whatson has the award in hand. There was brief mention of honour and disbelief from the team in their ‘winner’ post on LinkedIn, but the discerning readers among us had already caught on to Whatson’s plans.
Disruptive software with an innovative approach
Whatson’s lead generation software offers a powerful solution for marketers and sales teams who want to reach their target audiences more effectively. With their platform, they offer users unlimited access to the largest database in the Netherlands. Whatson scrapes public data sources, collects and organizes huge amounts of unstructured data. In addition to a good data structure and a talented (co-founder and) lead developer, AI applications are the key to read out valuable insights ready for use. Whatson users can easily and automatically identify and target the most relevant prospects.
The European Search Awards jury released the following statement: “Fantastic automation outreach tool that exceeds industry open rate averages, all for an affordable price point.” The result: more efficient and personalized marketing and sales campaigns, increasing market conversion rates sixfold and tripling response times. Again the ESA judges, “The numbers have been brilliant to see, thank you for sharing.”
Artificial Intelligence, The right way
Chiel Baauw, co-founder of Whatson, has an important insight on how Whatson is successfully using AI, for anyone who wants to apply it in their work/enterprise: “I think a big part of winning this award is due to our down-to-earth perspective regarding AI. Since the launch of ChatGPT, AI is often seen as the ‘holy grail,’ but in practice we see that AI still has a long way to go in many areas. Deploying AI is smart, but you have to carefully weigh when to apply it and when not to.”
“At Whatson, we use AI to automate repetitive operations and tasks, such as obtaining, structuring our data, and making it usable for users as well. This forms the basis for our personalization options in text and visuals, which allows Whatson to ensure a personal touch through templates.”
Whatson is often asked if AI can also write outreach messages fully independently. “However, we find that fully AI generated texts are still too inconsistent in quality to be completely reliable. It’s pretty easy to spot an AI generated text.” Although AI is developing rapidly, in their view it is not yet replacing the human aspect essential for effective conversion. “Whatson strives to develop software that is smarter than ourselves, which is why AI is deployed in areas where it actually exceeds our human capabilities. But do remember, that the fastest-growing app ever (ChatGPT) can suddenly improve drastically before you can say “European Search Awards: Best Use for AI in Data.”
The Whatson Team – June 2024 edition
From Founder-led sales to a sales team of 4
Whatson continues to grow and this month again expanded its sales team with an additional full-time employee. This is the second month in a row following the hiring of their new Account Executive in May.
At the beginning of this year, Whatson was running on Founder-led Sales only, but due to increasing demand, they decided to expand the sales team to a true team of four. With the first addition; Sales Support, followed by an Account Executive and a second Account Executive in June. Now the sales team is finally complete and ready to take the number of users to new heights. Obtaining Best Use of AI for Data provides a piece of social proof that can make all the difference in a start-up like Whatson.
Building this team was a 1.5-year process, with both highs and lows. But now, with two new top employees on board, Whatson is poised to attack the market and make even more sales/marketing professionals’ jobs more fun and efficient.
